The gift of literacy and a love of music
- Books. Hands down, my favorite gift to give any child, at any age, is books. I often give a little one a board book and a picture book. That way little hands have their own book to hold while an adult reads from the picture book. Music is also one of my favorite things to share with little ones. My children have a great appreciation for the 60s because they grew up on things like "Peter, Paul, and Mommy, too" and "The Beatles for Kids." (This was the stuff my parents sang to me from their own musical heritage.) They also love Sting's version of Peter and the Wolf. You can't go wrong with literature and music at any age!
