Mr. T in DC, "Steel Cut Oatmeal" http://flickr.com

I loved sifting through various recipes for baby food. When I would find a recipe that would get my tastebuds watering, I knew I had to try it out for my baby. Such is the case for this warm, autumn-inspired morning meal.

Age to introduce:

6 to 8 months
Prep Time: 0 hours, 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 hours, 0 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin purée
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 3/4 cup cooked oatmeal
  • dash cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)
Preparation:
  1. Begin by blending the pumpkin purée and applesauce in a medium-sized bowl. If using store-bought applesauce, you may want to be sure it's labeled "natural" or "unsweetened", depending on your preferences.
  2. Combined it with warm oatmeal, preferably made from steel-coat oats that has been ground in food processor.
  3. Portion out a serving into a clean bowl. Left overs can be stored in the freezer or refrigerator.
