Three Syllable Girl Names

By October 29, 2012

Follow me on:

Did you know that over 1/2 of the top 1000 names for girls are three syllable names? It is the most popular length of name for little baby girls. Wonder why?

Perhaps, some find that those longer, flowing names seem a bit more feminine. Sophia, Gianna, Lillian. They all sound a bit soft and lovely, don't they? I can understand why parents gravitate to names such as those.

Still other parents might like that 3 syllable names often lend themselves well to nicknames. Maybe her given name is Adelaide, but parents like the versatility of Addy as well. Nickname names can make for good grow-with-me names. Cute on a little girl, but as she grows can have a name that may sound a bit more professional.

What are some of your favorite girl names?
