Some of the About.com Parenting and Family Guides have rallied together again this year to present their own versions of "The Twelve Days of Christmas". We each will be blogging every day for the next 12 days using the traditional Christmas carol lyrics to inspire us. While yes I know, the traditional 12 days actually run from Dec 25 - Jan 5, we all thought you might appreciate having access to these products, ideas, materials (etc) beforehand. So sit back, relax, and enjoy!

On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me, baby pictures with my sweet pear.

Baby cocoons are becoming more and more popular for props in newborn baby pictures. They add a whimsical element to the picture while keeping your dear baby as the focus of the photo. This pear cocoon from Etsy Designer My Market Stall is made from a fabulously soft, chunky yarn. Can't you see this snapshot on a Christmas photo card?

Can't wait for tomorrow to hear the next lyric: Read the full 12 Days of Handmade Gifts for Babies.
