Why is the Name Elijah Popular?

You ever notice how certain names seem to come out of no where? A name that you rarely heard before suddenly seems to be named by every other baby you meet? Such seems to be the case with the name Elijah, and I have a theory as to why (see link for details).

Right around 1995 the name started to gain speed and by 2001 it was definitely gaining steam. Last year, it reached its highest point yet on the charts at rank #13. My guess is that the name is going to level off in popularity over the next few years, but time will only tell!
